Spring Break is coming up for the kids and that means, a full week off for the kiddos.   If you are lucky enough not to work you may be considering a quick getaway.  Here are 5 great places to check out within 2 hours of Denver.

Spring Break Denver – Getaways Not Far From Home

Great Wolf Lodge – Colorado Springs

Do your kids love water?  Do you feel like you need some time by the pool?  Great Wolf Lodge,  in Colorado Springs, is the place to go.  Just a little over an hour from Denver and you can book a room for a night or two and let the kids go crazy. It can get pricey but right now they are having a spring sale.  Check out their website HERE.

Gaylord Rockies Resort – Aurora

Could you get any closer to home?  You may be thinking, why would you want to stay in Aurora?  The new Gaylord Rockies hotel is truly another world.  There is plenty to do for you and the kids and one night of fun can break the boredom of spring break.  Indoor waterfalls, pools, slides, a variety of restaurants and a whole lot of fun await you.  Check out rates here.

Cheyenne Wyoming

Cheyenne has a lot of fun things to do, especially if there is sunshine and slightly warmer temps.  There is a historical train museum, botanical gardens, history museums, lots of fun cowboy boots the hunt out all over town and some great restaurants to try.  About 2 hours from Denver it is a great place to do a quick getaway.  Looking for a hotel with an indoor pool to let the kids get some energy out, check out TownePlace Suites.

Snow Mountain Ranch YMCA – Winter Park

I have not been here myself but I have heard amazing things about the mountain towns YMCA facilities. Snow Mountain Ranch offers all different kinds of accommodations including yurts, campgrounds, hotel rooms and cabins. Activities include dog sledding, indoor pool, craft room, ice skating, fat bike rentals, archery and a lot more to keep everyone happy and entertained. Check out their website for more details.

Downtown Denver

If you are not looking to travel far at all and maybe you don’t want to even stay in a hotel (or you do but you don’t want to have to drive).  Why not plan a couple of days exploring Denver? You can Ice skate on the 16th Street Mall, Visit the animals at the Zoo, Hang out at the Children’s Museum, Grab lunch at the Aquarium, check out the kid-friendly activities at the Denver Art Museum, the options are endless.  If you do want to splurge and want some family-friendly digs for the night, check out the Journeyman Bunkbed room at The Maven Hotel!  Be sure to call around as some hotels will do Spring Break Packages.

Whatever you decide to do for Spring Break there is plenty within a short driving distance, including DIA if you decide to fly away from here for a bit 🙂
