Indoor Play Centers Denver

October 8, 2018

It is the second week of October and winter has shown up for a few days. This has left parents wondering, “what will I do with these little ones during the winter”?

I figured I would put together a list with some of the great spots you can hit up in the colder weather.

Indoor Play Centers Denver

Lollipop Park in Centennial has train rides, bouncy houses, a carousel, rides and fun and crazy mirrors.  This is for kids 10 and under and they have a funky open schedule so it is best to check out their website before heading out.

Cherry Creek Mall – A favorite with moms of younger kiddos, the Cherry Creek Mall has a great free inside play area. Plus you can grab some lunch while you are there.

The Bounce Place – They have 2 locations with plenty of indoor inflatables.

Lava Island – Lava Island in Aurora has a trampoline park, toddler play area, indoor playground, climbing wall and plenty of other fun activities.

Frolic Play Space in Thornton is great for kids ages 0-5, they say seven but I am pretty sure my son would have got bored when he was 7. It is an awesome little spot though with climbing equipment, ride-on toys, kitchen area and plenty to keep the young ones entertained.

Big Time Fun is located in Westminster and is a favorite of many friends with kiddos of all ages.  Tumbling tracks, wrecking balls, ninja obstacle courses, playground for the little ones and arcade games keeps everyone busy!

Boondocks in Northglenn does have putt-putt golf and go-carts that may not be optimal in winter BUT it also has a lot of fun indoors.  Laser tag, bowling, and the arcade offer lots of fun for kids of all ages.

Kidspace in Broomfield/Westminster takes a different spin on play. They incorporate hands-on STEM activities into their indoor playground.

Little Monkey Biz are smaller play centers but they allow the kids time to climb,  jump and bounce of  the walls while mom and dad grab a coffee from the café. There is also an art room for those kids that love to create and get messy.

The Butterfly Garden in Westminster is a great place to spend a few hours on a cold day.  The tropical butterfly house feels like a vacation (the moisture helps those dry nasal passages too). There is also Rosy the spider to visit with,  plenty of insects to watch and an under the sea area as well as a small indoor play area.

The WOW Children’s Museum in Lafayette is perfect in winter. This is a great place for kids to learn, explore and play all in the one spot. From investigating dinosaurs to playing with giant bubbles, there is always something different to explore.

Forney Museum of Transportation has over 600 different historical artifacts to do with vehicles.  If you have a kiddo that loves trains, cars and other kinds of vehicles that will love exploring in this museum.

Wings over the Rockies Air & Space Museum was a favorite of ours when my son was younger and even now, especially when they do Star Wars Celebrations.  Kids can explore planes and parents can learn more about air and space history throughout Colorado. There is also a kids exploration room where the kiddos can explore and play.

Anythink Libraries are a great place if you are looking for something that is not crowded and is FREE. Not only can you grab some great books but these libraries have great play spaces for the kids.  The Thornton Anythink has a great space with a play kitchen, puzzles, soft landing spaces and other fun toys to check out.

Progresh in Thornton is a great place for older kids. This indoor training center allows your kids to simulate activities like snowboarding, skiing, skateboarding, bmx biking and tumbling. If you have a daredevil that needs to get some energy out this is the place to go.

Mid Air Adventures allows kids to swing, zip line, climb, slide and enjoy rope bridges all in the warmth.  There is a toddler area as well as plenty to do for older kids which make it perfect for families with kids of all ages. Located in Thornton you can get to Mid-Air Adventures easily from I-25.

Jump City is trampoline heaven. Kids of all ages can enjoy the trampolines, however, if your child is 3 and under you have to be out on the trampolines with them.  Trampolines, climbing walls and foam pits will keep everyone happy.
